The WFM began as a joint initiative of the Economic Development & Improvement Commission (EDIC) and the Tourism Commission in the summer of 2008 with a goal to serve the community by bringing in fresh and local products to our residents, while attracting neighbor communities to the unique history that Wethersfield has to offer. In that time, it has become a staple in our community, providing residents with access to fresh, locally grown produce and more. It has been our mission to work with our partners to reduce food insecurity and enhance health and quality of life in our community. Through our partnership with BioBag we are working toward reducing our use of plastic, and by contracting with Blue Earth Compost, we are leading the effort to recycle food scraps and cardboard. Thank you to everyone for your support!

We are a CT Grown Certified Market

With over 30 vendors weekly, we are your one stop shop for locally grown produce, organic produce, herbs, flowers, baked goods, cheese, honey, and many other specialty items, all grown or produced in Connecticut. Our market showcases the best in baked goods and artisanal products, while also supporting local businesses, musicians, and artists.

Join Us Every Thursday

The Market runs every Thursday from June 1, 2023 through October 12, 2023. 3-6PM. For safety, we do cancel if the weather is bad so check our Facebook page and Instagram, or send us an email to check. If it’s just a little rain, we will be open and move things closer to our covered porch area.

Support Local Farmers

Buying directly from farmers gives you the freshest and tastiest foods while helping family-run farms get a better return for their hard work!

Bring the Family!

The WFM is a great place to bring the entire family. We have kid-friendly fun with regular events scheduled along with a face painter and a balloon artist. Plenty of lawn area for picnics with food trucks offering pizza and a variety of other foods. And don’t forget Fido. We are a dog and animal-friendly Market.

We are Composting

The WFM has contracted with Blue Earth Compost. Pizza boxes, cardboard food containers and food scraps can be deposited in the specially marked bins. There will be other containers for regular trash and recycling. Let’s keep compostable materials out of the landfill and be earth-friendly.
